Our Campus
Freedom Guide Dogs' Campus is located on 4 acres of land in Upstate, N.Y.
Training Center & Kennel
Our Training Center & Kennel houses our In For Training dogs, our breed dogs along with dogs who are boarding. The Training Center & Kennel consists of front and back indoor runs with plenty of room in each run for each dog to have a run-mate. These runs allow the dogs to “busy” in the back of the run while keeping the front run clean and mess free. Each run is also equipped with a water lickit, allowing dogs to have fresh cold water at any given time.
Groom Room
- Our Groom Room is located in this building. The Groom Room features a nice standing tub and a ramp for dogs to easily step up into the tub. Staff can avoid lifting up large dogs by using this ramp. We have two drying crates for the dogs as well. With multiple shampoos to choose from depending on the dogs needs, our dogs are smelling nice and fresh by the time they leave our Groom Room.
Outdoor Dog Play Yard
We offer 2 outdoor play yards for our dogs in training, along with the dogs who are with us boarding to utilize and be able to release much needed energy in a safe, fenced in area. Weather permitting, our dogs are taken out daily in groups and engage in fun, friendly play in these outdoor runs. We have one large play yard and a smaller one located beside it.
Puppy Enrichment Center
Our Puppy Enrichment Center is where our newest future guide dogs are born. With the ability to whelp up to 4 litters at a given time, each nursery is equipped with a whelping box and a heat lamp to help keep the newborn pups warm.
We provide a nice quiet environment, allowing expecting mothers to nest, relax and prepare for the delivery of their puppies. Once the puppies have arrived they will remain in our Puppy Enrichment Center until they are 8 weeks of age and placed with a Puppy Raiser.
During the first 8 weeks of life we socialize these young pups and introduce them to new objects, sounds and smells. We encourage a positive bond interaction between humans and puppies at this early age. Once the puppies are age appropriate we introduce them to the puppy playground!
